You can spruce up a plain table, desk, or dresser with just a piece of wallpaper. Simply cut a sheet of wallpaper to the appropriate length, place it on top of the table and place a sheet of glass on top of it to hold it down. This allows you to change out the wallpaper if you ever want to paint the table a different color, are redecorating the room, or just need a change of scenery. You could also use shelf liners or scrap book paper to get this look. I have done this to an old dining room table that I turned into a desk, and used the glass plates from large picture frames that I had lying around to use on top instead of a huge piece of glass.
